Teichoic acid antibodies in chronic staphylococcal osteomyelitis

Summary

Teichoic acid antibodies were measured in various staphylococcal infections. The enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) showed higher sensitivity than gel-diffusion for detecting these antibodies, predominantly in IgG. Antigenemia, not infection duration, influences antibody production.
