Modern trends in cryosurgery of bone in the maxillo-facial region
Abstract:
There have been described a variety of methods of freezing bone in the maxillo-facial region with the object of eradicating neoplastic or other abnormal cellular elements, without the need for radical excision. Thermography allows analysis of penetration so that a suitable method can be chosen for a particular clinical situation. Sequestration and pathological fracture can occur as complications but may be avoided by attention to technique.
