Rodent malaria: BCG-induced protection and immunosuppression
Mycobacterium bovis, bacille Calmette-Guérin (BCG) vaccination offered partial protection against Plasmodium berghei sporozoite challenge in mice. However, irradiated sporozoites provided superior and solid immunity against rechallenge.
