Summary

Long-term depression (LTD) is present in the developing visual cortex at all ages studied. However, visual experience is crucial, as dark rearing reduces LTD expression in young rats.

Background:

  • Synaptic plasticity, including Long-Term Depression (LTD) and Long-Term Potentiation (LTP), is crucial for brain function.
