Background:

Observation:

  • A 65-year-old female presented with paraparesis, areflexia, unsteady gait, slurred speech, and diplopia.
  • These symptoms were attributed to severe hypercalcemia caused by primary hyperparathyroidism.

Findings:

  • Rehydration and bisphosphonate therapy normalized calcium levels and improved symptoms.
  • Subsequent parathyroidectomy resulted in complete resolution of all neurological deficits.
