Summary

Background:

Idiopathic central serous chorioretinopathy (ICSC) is a condition primarily affecting young males, often associated with Type A personality.
The underlying pathology involves the choriocapillaries and retinal pigment epithelium.

Purpose of the Study:

To summarize the clinical presentation, diagnostic methods, and treatment outcomes for Idiopathic Central Serous Chorioretinopathy.

Main Methods:

Diagnosis is established through clinical evaluation including fundoscopy and biomicroscopy.
Fluorescein angiography and Indocyanine green angiography are key diagnostic tools.

Main Results:

Most cases of ICSC resolve spontaneously within four months.
Direct photocoagulation of the leaking site can lead to earlier resolution.

Conclusions:

ICSC diagnosis relies on specific clinical and angiographic findings.
While spontaneous resolution is common, photocoagulation offers an option for faster recovery.
Oral steroids are contraindicated and may worsen the condition.
