Background:

Purpose of the Study:

  • To evaluate the effectiveness of 10% carbamide peroxide for internal tooth bleaching.
  • To compare 10% carbamide peroxide with a combination of 30% hydrogen peroxide and sodium perborate.
  • To assess the long-term color stability after internal bleaching.

Main Methods:

  • In vitro study involving 38 extracted human tooth crowns.
  • Artificial staining of pulp chambers with erythrocytes.
  • Three bleaching sessions over 14 days using 10% carbamide peroxide or 30% hydrogen peroxide/sodium perborate.
  • Color measurement using reflectance spectroscopy before and after bleaching.
  • Storage of bleached teeth for 3 months.
