Background:

Projection is a common defense mechanism.
It is a significant area of study in anthropology.
Measuring projection's intensity and flexibility requires a dedicated instrument.

Purpose of the Study:

To develop and standardize a new instrument for measuring projection.
To assess the prevalence and characteristics of projection in a population.

Main Methods:

Standardization of questionnaire answers from 250 participants (125 psychological medicine patients, 125 medical students).
Statistical analysis using SPSS, including chi-squared tests and contingency tables.
Factor analysis of the Projection Questionnaire with varimax rotation, identifying five factors with characteristic roots greater than one.
