Background:

  • Extranodal soft tissue lymphoma is a rare condition that can be mistaken for soft tissue sarcoma.
  • Limited clinical and radiological data exist for soft tissue lymphomas, with most information derived from pathology literature.

Observation:

  • A retrospective review of four patients with extranodal soft tissue lymphoma was conducted.
  • Patients presented with soft tissue masses in the thigh or shoulder, with median size of 6.7 cm.
  • All patients exhibited lymphadenopathy, elevated lactate dehydrogenase levels, and were diagnosed with advanced stage (II(E) to IV) B-cell lymphomas.

Findings:

  • Clinical features favoring lymphoma over sarcoma include pain, tenderness, ipsilateral extremity swelling, and radiologically evident lymphadenopathy.
