A mathematical model of radiotherapy department dynamics

Technical managers are increasingly called upon to plan for the future needs of radiotherapy departments. Such planning involves calculating budgetary and staffing requirements, as well as identifying equipment purchases. To anticipate these needs, a means to assess the department's patient capacity is necessary. This article proposes a mathematical model examining patient flow to assist with the expansion plans of radiotherapy departments.
