Providers in Florida are building up their cancer-care arsenals with ambitious building projects and affiliations with brand-name institutions. While the intensity of the "oncology wars" in Florida is partly a result of the state's large elderly population, analysts believe the heated competition there is an indicator of what the rest of the nation may soon experience.
