Abstract:
Changes in the legal system are hitting hospitals from every vantage point--including the hospital's role with patients in dealing with advance directives, documents that instruct physicians on the removal of life-sustaining equipment. In the following article, the author addresses the legal basis of a new federal law as a mandate for hospitals.
