Frustrated with the lack of government leadership on healthcare reform issues, private foundations are refocusing their grantmaking strategies to tackle some of the broader issues in healthcare today. Foundations are targeting issues that reflect their individual priorities, but their goals appear to be the same: to enhance access, improve quality and reduce costs.
