Cost containment in healthcare delivery

Progressive increases in medical care costs can not continue. Resistance from those who pay the costs--businesses, the government, and individual consumers--is increasing. The cries for greater government insurance and control are becoming louder. Healthcare organizations trying to cut costs often simply reduce staff across-the-board instead of developing ways to reduce the costs related to individual functions performed.
