As the national media focused attention on teenager Anissa Ayala who received a transplant of marrow cells "donated" by her baby sister, Marissa, who was conceived for the purpose of providing the marrow, a less publicized unsuccessful transplant procedure performed on Alyssa Plum a month earlier probably poses a greater challenge to ethical analysis.
