Reflections on aging. Communicating with elderly patients

Like it or not, many of our attitudes about aging are based on our personal experiences with elderly people. Yet providers need to replace myths and stereotypes with an understanding of the cultural and socioeconomic factors at play when communicating with this burgeoning patient population.
