Abstract:
The quality, effectiveness and efficiency of health care can now be measured and monitored with information technology. This has created new opportunities and challenges for Canada's health record professionals. Recently the Canadian Health Record Association developed a new role statement to clarify and redefine the future role of the health record professional. This article describes the process used and the conclusions.
