Medical waste treatment technology 4: MedAway-1

This is the fourth in a series of articles on alternative methods of destroying tracked medical waste. While previous articles have featured technologies designed to handle large quantities of waste, here we describe a smaller, more compact system designed for use in a laboratory or small hospital setting. ECRI has not tested this system; our description of this device does not imply endorsement by ECRI or CHEM.
