Pulse oximetry sensor recycling cuts Utah hospital's costs

A Utah hospital has cut some of its costs with a reprocessing program for disposable pulse oximetry probes. The hospital expects to save up to $120,000 annually. Some hospitals may already reuse disposable devices, but they could better manage reuse by developing written policies and procedures, the hospital says.
