Abstract:
Hospitals and health care professionals nationwide have been busy dealing with a new federal law, the "Patient Self Determination Act." Recent court rulings regarding a patient's right to determine his or her wishes for life-sustaining treatment have many health care professionals responding to new legal and ethical questions from patients.
