Sudden infant death syndrome: back to sleep campaign
1Cura VNA, Plymouth, MA.
Abstract:
Sudden infant death syndrome is the leading cause of death for infants between one month and one year of age. Studies outside the US have shown that a change in infant sleep position is connected to a significant decrease in the SIDS rate. This information has lead to an educational campaign in this country to promote back and side sleeping for healthy infants.
