The Provider Reimbursement Review Board (PRRB) is the body appointed by the Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS) to provide an appeal mechanism for healthcare providers to whom Medicare fiscal intermediaries deny reimbursement for services under Medicare. HFMA Colorado Chapter member Michael D. Richards, CPA, formerly director of finance at St. Mary's Hospital and Medical Center, Grand Junction, Colo., was appointed to the PRRB by HHS Secretary Donna Shalala for a three-year term that began in July 1993.
