Hawaii's health care system: imparting ideas for reform

The state of Hawaii has implemented a health care system that offers high-quality, cost-effective care to all of its citizens. This article provides an analysis of each of the six basic principles of the Clinton Administration's proposals and how these principles are used in Hawaii's health care system. A key question posed by the authors is whether, and to what extent, Hawaii's success with its health care delivery model can be packaged and applied to other parts of the nation.
