Summary

New hydrofluoroalkane (HFA) inhalers are replacing older chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) metered-dose inhalers (MDIs) for asthma treatment. Clinical trials show HFA inhalers are safe and effective, offering comparable asthma symptom relief to existing CFC inhalers.
