Assistive technology is described as any device that empowers an individual to perform a certain activity that he or she could not perform or would have difficulty performing. It is changing the quality of life for persons with disabilities, enabling them to participate in gainful employment, enjoy recreational activities, return to school, and engage in other activities of independent daily living.
