Abstract:
This paper gives a short overview of the Archimedes Network System, an information retrieval system that allows the user to browse, in a visual way, through domain knowledge about the topics discussed in the documents. The system was evaluated by medical students who used the system to find documents in Medline. The results were comparable with the results of WinSpirs, a Boolean retrieval system.
