Summary

Leptin (50 nM) acutely stimulates insulin secretion from rat pancreatic islets by altering calcium and potassium (K+) fluxes. This effect is glucose-dependent, with leptin enhancing insulin release at low and physiological glucose levels but not at high concentrations.
