Left ventricular myxoma.

Background:

Acute myocardial infarction (MI) is uncommon in young adults without cardiovascular risk factors.
Cardiac tumors, though rare, can present with diverse clinical manifestations.
Myxomas are the most common primary cardiac tumors, typically benign.

Observation:

A 23-year-old male presented with acute inferior myocardial infarction.
Echocardiography revealed a left intraventricular tumor.
Coronary cineangiography demonstrated normal coronary arteries.

Findings:

The intraventricular tumor was diagnosed as a myxoma originating from the ventricular septum.
Surgical resection was performed via the left atrium by detaching the anterior mitral valve leaflet.
Histopathological confirmation of myxoma.

Implications:

This case highlights a rare cause of myocardial infarction in a young individual.
Early diagnosis and surgical management of cardiac myxomas are crucial for favorable outcomes.
Intraventricular myxomas can mimic ischemic heart disease, necessitating comprehensive diagnostic evaluation.
