Abstract:
Proliferative effects of increasing concentrations of erythropoietin were studied in vitro. The maximal amount of erythroblastic islands consisting of residual macrophages and erythroid cells was observed with the doses 0.5 to 1.5 ME/ml of erythropoietin. Smaller doses stimulated the reconstruction of erythroblastic islands.
