T1 Fast Acquisition Relaxation Mapping (T1 FARM) offers superior MRI contrast tracking over saturation recovery Turbo-FLASH (srTFL). T1 FARM provides linear measurements at higher concentrations, improving accuracy in dynamic contrast-enhanced MRI studies.

  • To compare the performance of T1 Fast Acquisition Relaxation Mapping (T1 FARM) against srTFL for MRI bolus tracking.
  • To evaluate the linearity and saturation characteristics of both techniques across varying contrast agent concentrations.

  • Phantom studies were conducted to assess linearity with Gadolinium diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid ([Gd-DTPA]) concentrations.

    Conclusions:

    • T1 FARM is a more robust MRI bolus tracking technique than srTFL, particularly at higher contrast agent doses.
    • The improved linearity and reduced saturation of T1 FARM allow for more accurate quantification in DCE-MRI.
    • T1 FARM offers significant advantages for dynamic contrast-enhanced imaging requiring higher contrast concentrations.
