Effective step-by-step technique for the surgical treatment of protruding ears

Techniques of otoplasty may be arbitrarily divided into cartilage-molding or cartilage-splitting categories. In this article, we describe our personal experience in over 100 otoplasties using a combination of these two methods. We highlight the step-by-step approach, as well as a number of previously unreported techniques, that have enabled us to consistently achieve permanent, esthetically pleasing results in both younger patients, as well as in older adults.
