Area of Science:

  • Gynecologic surgery
  • Minimally invasive procedures

Background:

  • Hysteroscopy visualization of the cervical canal is often challenging.
  • Difficulty in visualization complicates hysteroscopic maneuvers and lesion removal.

Observation:

  • A novel technique was employed for a patient with a cervical polyp where conventional methods were unsuccessful.
  • A polyp snare was utilized in conjunction with a closed hysteroscope outflow channel.

Findings:

  • This modified approach enabled the rapid and complete removal of an intracervical cervical polyp.
  • The technique proved effective for excising challenging intracervical lesions.

Implications:

  • This method offers a viable solution for difficult cervical polyp excisions.

Related Experiment Videos

  • It enhances the efficacy of hysteroscopic interventions for intracervical pathologies.
