Background:

Purpose of the Study:

  • To investigate the existence and distribution of sympathetic nerve fibers within human lymph nodes.
  • To explore the potential role of sympathetic innervation in regulating lymphocyte traffic and supporting the psychoneuroimmune axis in humans.

Main Methods:

  • Analysis of 36 human lymph node samples from individuals aged 16-69 years.
  • Immunohistochemical detection of tyrosine hydroxylase (TH)-positive nerve fibers using a polyclonal antibody and the streptavidin-biotin system.
  • Microscopic examination of nerve fiber distribution in various lymph node regions, including the hilum, septa, blood vessels, and parenchyma.
