Abstract:
Recent court cases involving suits against hospitals and peer review committees challenging their use of summary suspension are reviewed. Courts are ruling that summary suspension is appropriate when applied to protect patients and that reviewing physicians are protected under state immunity statutes and common law qualified privilege.
