Competition for the health dollar: the pathologist's share

Price competition in health care services is the wave of the future. Undeniably, the rate of increase in health care costs must be reduced. Federal and state regulations designed to contain these costs have not proven effective. In this article the author explains why he believes open competition is the solution to this critical problem, and how Public Law 97-248 will help bring about this movement.
