Abstract:
Today, with the high cost of laboratory equipment and the ever-increasing rate of obsolescence, it is important for laboratory directors to be aware of the alternatives for acquiring capital equipment. The author of this article reviews five mechanisms for acquiring capital equipment for hospital laboratories and discusses advantages and disadvantages of each.
