Privileges system deters disputes among medical staff specialists
Trustee : the Journal for Hospital Governing Boards
|December 11, 1984
Abstract:
With a growing number of physicians and dwindling opportunities to perform in-hospital procedures, medical staff privileges disputes are likely to increase. The author explains how a privileges process that is based on the individual physician's demonstrated ability instead of specially labels or character of training can prevent such disputes and protect the hospital from antitrust suits that may occur in connection with them.
