In both the new medical group practice and the growing established group practice, particular attention should be paid to the physical aspects of the office. The specialized knowledge of a medical planner can be very helpful in providing practical reasons for certain layouts and identifying an office's strengths and weaknesses. From the major decision of whether the administrative and support services should be centralized to the formula for estimating waiting room seating requirements, a trained observer shares her insights into efficient office design and space planning.
