Providing better understanding of the true revenues of the organization

In this commentary, the author suggests that current trends in the healthcare industry have made the traditional approach to recording patient service revenue inadequate. He feels the guidelines set forth in the following Principles and Practices Board statement, "The Presentation of Patient Service Revenues and Related Issues," is a more useful way to present the "true" revenues of the healthcare organization.
