The new scope of work: what it means to PROs and providers

The first two years of PROs have represented a learning phase for hospitals, PROs, and HCFA. With the emphasis on quality review in the next round of PRO contracts, beginning in July 1986, hospitals need to become familiar with PROs' revised scope of work.
