Patient identification: a look at triage tags

An ever-present problem that occurs with multiple-patient incidents is the identification of victims. After the victims are initially assessed, it is imperative that they be identified as to whether they require immediate care or whether they can wait awhile for care. A variety of triage tags have been developed across the country to provide this identification. In this article, we will examine some different tags in current use, and discuss consideration for their proper use.
