A computer simulation of patient flow in a public psychiatric emergency service

A simulation model of the walk-in emergency psychiatric service of a large metropolitan public hospital has been developed using Dynamo simulation language on an IBM-PC microcomputer. The model reveals the basis of equilibrium in the system, despite the rising demand for service.
