The role of the safety officer

Unless NHS managers have been testing their nuclear bunkers they will know about the full application to the Crown of the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and readers will have noticed an increasing number of safety officer positions being advertised. In this article I would like to look at the role of the district safety officer, his function, objectives and working parameters.
