Design implications of a changing health care scene

The progress of ever-growing and ever-increasing size of the institutional buildings has reached a point where one has to take stock of the existing situation, examine alternative ways for the future across all levels of health service, envisage buildings working as part of the service with all its facilities in balance, make the best possible use of what exists, provide new ones only where really needed (not wanted) and assess and evaluate costs and benefits of the alternatives available.
