Supervision is a process that never ends

Now that we have discussed both orientation of new employees and motivation of experienced ones, we can begin to summarize the points made by this article: Basic management and supervision principles must be modified to meet the specific needs of the situation. The work of a supervisor is ongoing and involves a continual assessment of the best strategies which should be utilized to maximize attainment of goals. Supervisors must be creative, must think about where employees are coming from, and must incorporate concerns for the employees into decisions which are made. One final point is important: the job of a supervisor is not easy. But this fact emphasizes what, for many, is most interesting about the important work undertaken by those in charge of organizations.
