Monitoring outside vendor service

Once a type of outside service has been selected for a particular device or group of devices, the service must be closely monitored; manufacturers' warranty service should receive similar attention. A hospital's potential liability for patient injuries resulting from deficient equipment service, whether by in-house staff or an outside vendor, is-along with quality-of-care and accreditation concerns-another reason for careful management of all equipment service.
