Veterans Administration patient health education policy statement

Patient education managers who are seeking greater administrative support may want to consider the development of a formal patient education (PHE) policy. This article describes the background of PHE policy activities in the Veterans Administration (VA), and presents the policy which was recently approved for national dissemination. This article may assist other patient education managers who wish to develop supportive policies in their own institutions.
