Addressing operational issues in medical practice development
Abstract:
Even after a buyer for a medical practice has been found by a hospital's medical practice development team, potential problems could arise. Financing arrangements have been taken care of by the development team, but legal, operational, and additional financial issues still remain and must be addressed before the acquisition is finalized. In this final article of a two-part series on medical practice development, the operational issues of buying a physician practice are discussed. Acquisition of a medical practice and the transfer of patient loyalty can contain problem areas that must be addressed before the transition is initiated.
