The effective plan

This study commences with a review of aspects of planning which feature prominently in management theory. It describes a survey carried out in a District Health Authority during 1985/86 and outlines those aspects which emerged as important to the staff engaged in planning. It concludes with a comparison of the relative emphases in theory and practice.
