Rural health care: shorthanded and shortchanged

Rural health care needs are sometimes more pressing than those of urban areas, but the rural community lacks political influence on the national level to gain the necessary attention. The American Medical Association's National Conference on Rural Health brought together representatives from the medical and political arenas to discuss their views on various topics, including federal reimbursement policies, health manpower shortages, and the new national health planning guidelines.
